Birthday Wishes
Joan McEvoy will be celebrating a momentous 90th birthday this week and in recognition of her special day, I was proud to present her with a framed certificate from myself and Mayor Watson extending our congratulations. Wishing you many more happy, healthy years ahead Joan.

Osgoode Outreach Christmas Luncheon
Attended the Royal Canadian Legion Osgoode Branch #589 for a wonderful Outreach Seniors Christmas luncheon gathering this week. Many members were in attendance to have a photo with Santa, enjoy some singing and a snack to accompany the happiest of spirits. Wishing you all a wonderful and safe holiday.

The Award Goes to...
Well better late than never I always say. I was happy to see both Shirley Lupton and her husband Richard Morin who were both recipients of the H.R. (Dick) McLaughlin Memorial Senior Award as 2 of founding members of the Osgoode Outreach Group. Shirley and Richard were unavailable on the Awards evening so what better way to celebrate than in person! Congratulations once again to you both for all your hard work in the community along with your team that includes Elizabeth McNee and Greg Thurlow as well as countless other volunteers.

Metcalfe Christmas Parade
Sunday was the perfect day for the Metcalfe Christmas Parade. Thanks to the City of Ottawa team driving the float for #TeamDarouze. The community came out and showed their love to all the local organizations who participated. Big thanks to Metcalfe Community Association and your dedicated team of volunteers for making it all happen, we couldn’t have done it without you.

Metcalfe Pizza 44 years
One of the friendliest, hardworking family businesses in the Ward is right here in the Village of Metcalfe by the name of Metcalfe Pizza. Both George and Laila have been doing this for decades along with their children and it was my pleasure to stop in this evening with a signed letter from both Mayor Watson and myself acknowledging this amazing feat as well as surviving through Covid.

Make The Right Call

Making a Report to 311
- Service Ottawa would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to make use of the 3-1-1 web portal to report issues related to winter maintenance.
- Please keep in mind that both during and immediately after severe winter weather events, Service Ottawa staff are often deluged with a large number of calls related to safety-issues. Often we will see a significant backlog of emails in the aftermath of a storm.
- By submitting your request online, you bypass this backlog, and ensure that issues are sent immediately and directly to appropriate staff for action.
- Here a few quick links for common issues throughout the winter season:
- Road maintenance
- Report slippery/icy conditions
- Report that street has not been plowed
- Sidewalk, bike lane and pathway maintenance
- Report slippery/icy conditions

- Work will take place from December 28th at 7pm to December 29th at 6am, and from December 30th at 7pm to December 31st at 6am, and will require road closures of Earl Armstrong Road and Bowesville Road (1 night per roadway).
