- Councillor's Corner
When I was elected, I promised to provide my residents with some time each week to listen to their concerns and feedback. Beginning in November of 2015, I started offering my "Open Door" every Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at my Metcalfe Ward Office. Anytime between 1-5 pm you can drop-in to discuss any questions, concerns, just to say 'hi' or introduce yourself if we have not yet met. Appointments will continue to be taken throughout the week, but that afternoon will be reserved for anyone who would like to drop by. Paired with my initiative to have my ward office open 5 days a week, it has shown to be quite well received by the community.
I have heard tremendous feedback from residents about my Open Door initiative. Making myself available for an entire afternoon to discuss any ideas or concerns not only provides my residents with the chance to reach me on a more personal level, but also gives our community association representatives an opportunity to easily connect with me on their spare time, as most are volunteers. My Tuesday afternoons at the Metcalfe office have become a vital resource to the community, with hundreds of residents stopping in every year. The feedback and communication that takes place in Open Door is key to allow me to be a better city representative for Osgoode Ward!
The Metcalfe Ward Office is located at 8243 Victoria Street. If you are able to come in during my Open Door, I would love to meet you.
