Week in Review!

Business Certificates

To start the new year off, I was proud to present a couple of Certificates of Congratulations to two local businesses. C.L. Carpet Cleaning that is more than just a carpet cleaning business. Owner and operator Kevin Larose offers car detailing for trucks and vans as well as pressure washing. He also offers furniture cleaning for love seats, chairs or couches when doing your carpets, whether in the office or at home. He offers great services both within and outside the Ward.

Johnathon Scrivens is the owner/operator of Scrivens Mechanical, the newest HVAC Company that is located in Metcalfe. Stay local, shop local in the name of community spirit, and try this new local business! I am always proud to support and encourage local businesses in the Ward.

Congratulations to both.

Open Door

Well my first Open Door of 2018 was a busy day and I was very happy to be back greeting residents! Whether taking time to discuss issues or concerns, greeting new business owners, picking up a new Blade Sign, or supporting the Rotary Club, it is great to interact with my residents. I am really looking forward to spending more days in the Ward. If you have not had the opportunity to stop in and meet, please do so any Tuesday from 1-5 pm at the Metcalfe Office. I look forward to meeting you!

20th Ice Storm Anniversary Weekend

Do you remember where you were when the lights went out? Do you remember the silence until the generators started and the trees began to break? Do you remember the lifestyle changes you had to make? Do you remember how our communities pulled together with neighbours helping neighbours? Do you remember the Military being called in? Do you remember...? And do you remember the fun we had in 2008 when we celebrated the 10th anniversary of the 1998 Ice Storm? Well we are going to celebrate again! And everyone is welcome!
