Update on Winter Road Conditions in Greely

We have had record-breaking snowfalls this year, and staff have been trying to adjust their game plan to tackle Mother Nature’s temperament. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to my office and provided updates on their road conditions; your feedback is always taken very seriously.

My staff and I have been working closely with road crews and the Public Works managers to assess the roads this week. I have personally traveled around the residential roads to provide options and my thoughts on how we can improve road conditions, especially in Greely. Since Osgoode Ward is so large, we have multiple zones that work to cover boundary to boundary. I have been assured that all residential roads in Greely today will receive the appropriate abrasive treatments after they have been plowed.

I would like to thank the crews who have been working around the clock in the villages of Osgoode and Metcalfe to keep the roads plowed. The reports from residents in these areas have been very positive and I have shared your compliments with crews!

I encourage you to call 3-1-1 if you believe your street needs further attention from our city road crews, or if there is ever anything urgent that should be brought to the city’s immediate attention. The 3-1-1 system will immediately acknowledge your request and dispatch the appropriate city department. Please keep the reference # provided by 3-1-1, and email my office. My staff will be able to follow up on your request and provide updates, ultimately improving the City’s level of service to you.

In the meantime, enjoy the winter season, because pretty soon we will be enjoying 30 degree sunshine and heat waves!
